Leland and Mary Ellen Thompson were married in Stevensville Montana, July 8, 1940. The couple were natives of Butt where they had gone to school and College together.
After their wedding in 1940 the Thompson's moved to Washington D.C. where Leland worked for the U.S. War Department. While working for the U.S. government the couple has lived in several states including Hawaii, Germany and Japan.
Mary Ellen also worked for the U.S. government while they lived in Germany, Japan, and Hawaii. She was Secretary to the Deputy of Defense, and worked in the Pentagon.
Mary Ellen and Leland were awarded a medal for traveling over 42,000 miles with the Norwegian Cruise Lines. Over the years Leland And Mary Ellen have traveled to every continent with the exception of Antarctica.
Aside from their travels the Thompson's enjoy gulf, bowling, and square dancing.
The Thompson's have enjoyed every minute of their 68 years together.
