The song "Wear My Ring Around Your Neck" was popular when Bob Nicholson asked Phyllis Alberding to become his bride.
Bob and Phyllis Nicholson were married October 11, 1958 at the First Congressional Church in Whiting.
A celebration honoring the Nicholson's 50th wedding anniversary was hosted by their children and grandchildren. Friends and family were invited to attend; photos and any memorabilia that included the couple over the past fifty years were the hit of the evening.
Bob and Phyllis have a son Brian and daughter Claudia and they are also the proud grandparents of two grandchildren Addison and Madeleine.
The Nicholson's have lived in the same home in Sioux City for the past fifty years.
The couple are active members of the First Congressional Church in Sioux City. They are also active in community functions.
