The song "I've Grown Accustomed To Her Face," was popular when Donald Jacobs asked Doris Kittle to become his bride. The Jacob's were married on August 21, 1948, in Aurora at the home of Doris's parents.
An anniversary dinner celebrating the Jacob's 60th wedding anniversary was given at Fiddlers Three Restaurant hosted by their children.
Donald retired from the United States Air Force Reserve with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and also was veteran of World War II. Donald also retired from Wellman Thermal Systems.
Doris is a homemaker and was a stay at home mom, raising their three children.
They are the parents of Kenneth of Shelbyville; Dennis of Connersville; Diana of Indianapolis. They are the proud grandparents of 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Donald and Doris are active in their community. They also stay active with children and grandchildren.
