Love was in the air while the war was going on, when Vilas Kaufman asked Donna Neel to marry him. The Kaufman's were married August 18, 1943 at her family's home in Windom, Kansas.
An open house in celebration of the Kaufman's 65th wedding anniversary was hosted by their children and grandchildren. Family and friends were in attendance bringing back old memories with photos and memorabilia of the past sixty-five years. An enjoyable evening was had by all.
The Kaufman's have two children, Sherry Nuehring, Rick Kaufman.
The Kaufman's have a total of 15 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Vilas and Donna enjoy spending time with the children and grandchildren at family gathering.
