Jim Acher and Betty McGhuey were married August 24, 1958 at the Shinook Methodist Church; the couple were high school sweetheart that had grown up on neighboring ranches.
Betty graduated from the University of Northern Montana and taught at Harlem for thirty-one years retiring in 1997. Jim graduated from the same college and taught at East Glacier Park, Lavina and Harlem. Jim was also a member of the Montana National Guard.
After retirement the couple moved to Casper, Wyoming where they now reside.
The Acher's have two children Mikel and Sandra and they also have 7 grandchildren.
Betty and Jim enjoy going on family camping trips and traveling across the country. Betty is an avid reader and enjoys hunting and fishing. Jim enjoys household projects and building models. They are active members in College Heights Baptist Church.
To celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Jim and Betty went on an Alaskan cruise.
