A celebration was given Aug.2, 2008 honoring Dennis and Janey Swope's 50th anniversary. The Swope's children ask that family and friends bring photos and memorabilia that included the Swope's past 50 years together.
Dennis Swope and Jenny Peckumn met while in junior high. They were married August 2,1958 at the Central Assembly of God Church in Las Cruces.
Dennis is a veteran of the U.S. Army he retired from Lockheed Martin at the NASA site in 2003.
Janey retired in 2006 after 27 years of teaching at Conlee Elementary.
The Swope's are the proud parents of 2 children, 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
The couple enjoy traveling and visiting with their children. They are also very active in community activities.
