Number 13 Lucky For Couple

Thirteen is Emerald's Nelson's lucky number so it is no coincidence the couple married September 13th, 1947.

With a smile on her face Lois will tell you she has a real jewel for a husband in Emerald.

The Nelson new one another long before they were married, but they never dated until Lois and Emerald were at the same dance one evening and she ask him to dance.

Emerald is a good dancer and would still be dancing at 91 with Lois, but he just gets too tired.

Faith helped us to weather bad times. The Nelson's remember that some of the happiest times in their marriage were spent with their children camping, and going to the drive-in.

Emerald and Lois have lived in the same home for more then 50 years. Love of family is evident upon entering this home there are photographs lining the hallway of both children, and grandchildren.

Emerald was in the Army in World War 11 and is a retired electrician of 40 years. Lois worked in the American Arms factory during the war, later becoming a housewife and mother.
