Serving Their Country Together

Alfred meet Lillian while on leave in England from the Army in 1937, from the first time he saw Lillian he told his friends that she would one day be his wife. The couple married in 1938 Alfred was shipped off to India soon after. Lillian followed him in 1939 where she enlisted in the Indian Army.

After six years in India the Brewster's went back to England in 1944. Alfred served in the bomb disposal unit where he was seriously injured. After 21 years of service Alfred retired from the British Army.

The Brewster's have lived in Hamilton since 1979. They now live at Hamilton's Brylyn Rest home where pictures that tell their life story adorn the walls.

Alfred and Lillian enjoy telling their life stories to friends and family when they come to visit.

The Brewster's believe that the secret of their 70 years together was based on "Having a good argument once in a while, but you never hit one another."

Alfred and Lillian have 4 children, 12 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.
